Information you provide

We collect information you submit directly through forms on the Site. This includes:

• Email address when you sign up for launch notifications
• Name, email address, and message content when you use the contact form
• Name, shipping address, and billing information when you place an order through our checkout

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider may maintain standard server access logs, including visit timestamps, requested pages, IP addresses, browser type, and referring URLs. The Site stores a theme preference in your browser’s local storage. It does not use third-party advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral analytics.

Payment information

Purchases on the Site are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Stripe handles card data under its own privacy and security terms, available at stripe.com/privacy.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Send launch notifications and book-related updates to subscribers
• Respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form
• Process and fulfill orders, including shipping signed hardcovers and other merchandise
• Maintain Site security and diagnose technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting where applicable

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Site and fulfill orders, and only to the extent necessary for those purposes:

• Stripe: payment processing
• Formspree: form submission handling for the launch list and contact form
• Hostinger: web hosting and email delivery infrastructure
• IngramSpark and Amazon KDP: print-on-demand fulfillment and order shipping for trade editions
• USPS or other carriers: shipment of direct-sale signed editions
• Apple Music and Spotify: embedded playlist players
• Google Fonts: delivery of web fonts

We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

Cookies

The Site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. It uses local storage only to remember your light-or-dark theme preference. Embedded Apple Music and Spotify players, Formspree forms, Google-hosted fonts, Stripe Checkout if offered, and external retailers may set cookies or receive technical request data under their own policies.

Data Retention

We retain your email address on the launch list until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribe instructions are included in every email we send. Contact form submissions are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain a record of the exchange. Order records are retained for at least seven years for tax and accounting purposes.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These can include the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, the right to know what categories of information we collect and share, and the right to opt out of certain uses of your information. California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states have enacted laws that grant some or all of these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We will not retaliate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the Site, please contact us and we will delete it.

Third-Party Links

The Site links to external pages, including bookseller listings, social platforms, and the Open Channel Press website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. Review their policies before submitting any personal information.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be noted on the Site for a reasonable period after they take effect.
